Chestnut detergent - for washing clothes or as a cleaning agent.

- 7-10 chestnuts
- approx. 300 ml water
- 1 glass jar with screw cap
For this you can make 2 variants, each with unpeeled and peeled horse chestnuts. For colored and dark laundry you can leave the peel on, for white and light laundry we recommend to peel them to avoid gray stains.
Stubborn stains should be pretreated with gall or curd soap.
Here we go::
Clean horse chestnuts of soil without the prickly husk and peel with a sharp knife. As said, only for light wash, otherwise with peel.
Then cut into quarters and put into the jar.
Add the water, let it infuse for 5-7 hours, just shake it in between, the soap substances (saponins) will be dissolved and you will get your detergent in a very simple way.
Before you put it into the washing machine, strain it through a sieve and wash as usual.

Put it in the washing machine or your cleaning bucket as usual, if you add a few drops of essential oil, you will still have fragrance experiences.
You can reuse the chestnuts up to 3 times, each time you should increase the infusion time.
Ready-made detergent will keep for 2-3 days.
